At the House of Hope, we value contributions in kind and in the form of time, love and commitment, be it at the individual or corporate level. We have been blessed to benefit from and to see work-from-home mothers share their love and time with our children; retired school teachers come in and tutor our children; retirees come in and help in our kitchen; and corporations come in and conduct activities ranging from skills development to day camps.
We value your skill sets and your talent. If you are able to commit your time and love, please contact us to see how you can help.
We want every child to acquire competence and confidence in key life skills to help them unlock their potential. We seek to equip every child to become independent learners so that they can continue to learn and grow outside of class.
We run programs in English literacy, digital skills, arts & creativity, and sports.
We want each child to recognise their own potential, learn the value of hard work and perseverance, and discipline to achieve their goals. We also want each child to internalise the value of teamwork, develop the courage to do the right thing, and to have compassion for others.
We recognise that every child learns best in the context of committed long term relationships with teachers and mentors who love them and are invested in their growth and overall well- being.
Many children living in poverty do not have positive role models or adult figures in their lives. We seek to seed long term mentoring relationships in their lives through teachers and mentors in the educational programs.
English Literacy Classes are held every Saturday morning, using the MYReaders curriculum. Training will be provided to volunteer teacher-mentors.
- volunteer teacher-mentors
- experienced English teachers to help with program planning, training, and volunteer support
Many of our children also need help in keeping up with their school work.
- Volunteer teacher-mentors who can come weekly to coach students in their school work.
Weekly soccer trainings, on Tuesday evenings 5pm - 7pm. Facilitated by a coach
- Assistant Coaches to train with the kids.
Join us in our journey alongside individuals and families going through difficult times. You can support us in practical ways such as befriending the elderly, visiting them regularly, forming a playgroup with parents and their young children, and signing up for activities with us to get to know them better.
We are grateful for financial sponsorships, or donations in kind of the following items.
No donation amount is too small, and no quantum of contribution is insignificant. At the House of Hope, we believe that a little help goes a long way.
We welcome organisations that share our vision, to partner with us. You can give regularly to support our work, or through CSR partnerships to sponsor one of our regular programs or through meaningful one-off activities.
For both long term CSR partnerships and one-off activities, please contact us early in the year to allow us to plan our calendar for the year ahead.
We always welcome interns. As a House of Hope intern, you will deepen your understanding and experience of community work, and will give your best to helping needy individuals and families. Students who have completed their SPM or wish to work at something meaningful during their school breaks are also welcome to apply.
Prerequisites: a willing heart and a humble mind.
